In a school with a 1% Asian population, it was not hard to find and be friends with the other Filipinos and Asians durnig my freshman year at FUS. My closest friends were Thielo (met at the airport during orientation)Twins, Andie and Mandie (met at STM Hall), Anna (bf and roommate in 2001),Carolyn (big sis from Cali), Stacy (our big sister that fed us and drove us around!), Colleen (another big lil sister who invited us to everthing) Dan (best guy friend at FUS, computer guru/master), Pauline (Pupu-Dan's gf with whom I instantly became friends with), Nicola (our crazy Indian), and Jen (roomie in Spring 02 and 04, travel buddy in Europe). The Kristens lived in 3rd floor with me and also became very close friends. I went to Kristen's (glasses) wedding in July 2004 and was a bridesmaid with the other Kristen (long hair-became a Theta Phi sorority sister in 2002).Newera (the friend that cooks da best!, last of the Filipinos at FUS today) later came into the picture in Spring 2002.
My first two years before the Theta Phi Alpha era are my most cherished and memorable times. It was a time of discovering freedom, love, understanding friendship and everything in between. Sushi parties, cherry friends, dorm life, salo-salo, Tropico, guys and girls talks...I love and miss it all. I had many friends during this time but none have touched my heart and impacted my life as much as these persons here.
