BASIC FIELD UNIFORM & EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

36th Motorized Rifle Division

July 1939 to December 1942


Uniform

  1. M36 Steel Helmet with chinstrap, and correct liner (no Czech liners).
  2. Budenovka (early forage cap) with star.
  3. Pilotka (overseas cap) with star.
  4. M35 Gymnastiorka (shirt) with EM insignia for Rifles.
  5. M35 Galife (trousers).
  6. Brown or black Low-quarter boots with brown wool or canvas leggings.
  7. Yalovie boots (black).

Equipment

  1. Leather single-prong roller buckle equipment belt.

  2. Leather trouser belt.

  3. Gas Mask Bag.
  4. Canteen w/khaki or green cover.

  5. Food Pail or Mess Kit.
  6. Drinking Cup.
  7. Shovel w/cover.
  8. Plasch Palatka (rain poncho/shelter quarter).

Weapons

  1. M1891/30 Mosin-Nagant with cleaning rod, leather or canvas sling, and one Czarist style ammo pouches (shown below front and rear views), or two pair M35 style (only one pair shown below).

  2. SVT 40, and leather ammo pouch.

  3. DP-28 Light Machine Gun.
  4. 14.5MM PTRD 1941 Degtyarev Anti-tank Rifle.
  5. Ppsh-41 Sub-Machine gun.
  6. Simulated RGD-33 fragmentation grenades (must be approved before use).

Winter Gear

  1. Budenovka.
  2. EM Shinel (greatcoat) with insignia for Rifles.
  3. Trigger-Finger Leather Mittens.
