STEP 1: Making the mouthpiece reciever.

Boil a pot of water.

Remember to use some sense. Boiling water will scald you very badly. If you're even a little bit scared that you will burn your self, then have someone older help you out . And if you are not scared of getting burned, then you should definitely get someone older to help you.

Now, grab that 11 3/8" length of 3/4" Schedule 40 PVC pipe and insert about 3" of one end into the boiling hot water for about 15 to 20 seconds.

Remove the pipe from the water and QUICKLY insert the length of 1/2" Schedule 40 PVC pipe into the hot, softened end of the 3/4" Schedule 40 PVC pipe. Push it in about 1 1/2". Try to wiggle the pipe around slightly while the plastic is still soft but not so much that the 3/4" pipe flares out. You'll want the two pipes to fit in one another snugly, but not so tight that they can't be adjusted for intonation.

If the plastic on the hot end of the 3/4" pipe won't stretch around the 1/2" pipe, then it isn't hot enough. put it back in the boiling water for 15 to 20 seconds longer and try again.

Once the pipe is cool and the plastic has re-hardened, separate the two pipes and move on to step 2--->
