Hiei's Ordeal Chapter 1 "No, but I do wonder what he will learn from this." replied Hiei to Kurama's question about Yusuke marrying Kayko. "I seriously doubt it, but, we can hope." said Kurama with a smile. Hiei smirked. "By the way, congrats on the marriage also." he said. Kurama's eyes widened. "Oh? To Jessica? She's sweet, and thank you Hiei." he replied. Occasionally, Hiei would drift off into thought about all of his friends (Hn!) being married and not him. Even his sister had a mate! He poked at the idea for a while, then decided, he would try to leave it alone. He walked through the woods, anticipating the next day's tournament. It was a small gathering, but it would definitely be worth it. Especially alone. 'Alone' he thought. He sighed and remembered the times he and the group had had. He would never forget no matter what anyone else thought. He walked past a girl who caught his eye. She had long super-straight shiny black hair, a spiked bracelet, crystal blue eyes, and she was wearing all black. He glanced at her then walked on. The next day, Hiei saw the girl at the tournament. She was on the opposite team, though. She was laughing, kind of evilly too. Her eyes sparkled this, evil glint that made Hiei wonder. Her eye color reminded him of an old foe. 'Touya' he thought, 'Touya! She must be related to him.' The teams were paired up, who would fight who. "Hiei Jaganshi versus Tira (Tear-ra) Midori!" the announcer yelled. "So that is her name." he muttered to himself as he stepped up onto the arena. " Remember! No attacks or weapons are prohibited! Now, BEGIN!" the announcer yelled again. "Aha. Hiei, I have heard about you." said Tira as she circled him. He stood content, prepared for her attack. "You have a friend named Kurama, no?" she asked. "Yes, I do." he replied vaguely. "Your friend, he killed my brother, Touya, my older brother. I was 12 when he killed him, and I was there to see it. You, will pay dearly for your friend's mistake." she said. She jumped at him and punched, but he dodged. "You can't run forever, Hiei!" she said. "You're right!" He replied, " But I'm not!" he punched her in her face and she staggered back. "Ugh. Hn!" she snorted. She froze the arena, making it hard to walk or run without slipping. It was very cold. " I remember this from Touya." said Hiei. "Yes, I'm sure you do, he taught me just before he died!" she yelled, "Winter Shards!" Hiei dodged as much as he could but was still hit. "You're good." he said. "Thank you but no thank you! I DON'T take pity compliments." she said. By the end of the fight, Tira had Hiei pinned, just in enough time to make him lose. Before she got up, she kissed him on the cheek. "Good try, Hiei." she whispered and walked off. |
