MARCH 04 | PLUSHZETTE VOL 1 ISSUE 1 |
Everybody has looked at strong pets like Majal_Kita and saw their stats and been convinced that they could never do the battledome. Well that’s not true because any pet can do well in the battledome. The first thing to know is that the amount of damage you will do can be calculated by using icons. There are seven different types of icon. They are dark, light, air, water, earth, fire and physical. Each weapon does a certain amount of icons, sometimes all are the same icon and sometimes there is a variety. The amount of damage also depends on your pet’s strength boost. Each time you reach a strength boost you will do more damage. These are the strength boosts: 0, 8, 13, 20, 35, 55, 85, 125, 200, 250, 300, 350, 400, 450, 500, 550, 600, 650 and 700. If you have the 20 strength boost you will do 1.25 times the number of icons. If you have the 500 strength boost you will do 11 times the number of icons. The full list of damage multipliers is 0.5, 0.75, 1, 1.25, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 4.5, 5.5, 6.5, 7.5, 8.5, 9.5, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 respectively. So it doesn’t matter whether your pet has 14 or 19 strength stat it will do the same damage as any pet with the 13 strength boost. On top of that the type of attack you and your opponent do determines the total damage done. If you use fierce attack and extra 40% is added on and if your opponent also does fierce attack more icons are added on. However doing fierce attack also makes your opponents attacks 40% stronger! That is quite complicated but you will get used to it. For example imagine you are using a lost desert dagger with the 20 strength boost, and both you and your opponent are using fierce attack. Lost desert dagger does 6 icons. Because you have the 20 strength boost it does 1.25 times that which is 7.5. Add on the fierce attack you do and that’s an extra 40%, which is approximately 10 or 11 damage. With your opponent attack that’s approximately 15 damage! Finding out how much damage you can do is not essential, it is useful though so that you can see the kind of opponents you will be likely to beat. Just now the speed and intelligence stat make absolutely no difference so you don’t need to train them. Defence boosts are the same as the strength boosts but they work slightly differently, but you don’t really need to know how they work. The best place to train, as a beginner, is the swashbucklin’ academy. First you will probably have to train level and after that train either endurance or strength. Next you have to choose which weapons to use. On the whole people will not have over 50k (50,000np) to spend. You can still get a good set of weapons for this amount. You are only allowed to have eight weapons attached to your pet at one time so you have to choose your weapons wisely. I would recommend have one freezing weapon, one healing weapon, three attacking weapons, one defensive weapon and two snowballs. The snowballs are good because they do lots of damage but you can only use them once and then they vanish forever, so it’s a good idea to stock up on them. Sticky snowballs are the best kind and they only cost about 200np. If you have a lot more spare cash buy stone muffins for 2k that do 15 icons, but again you can only use them once. Snowglobe staffs have a chance of freezing your opponent, and you should also buy 3 fire faeries and get the ability fiery gaze. Together you should be able to freeze every couple of battles easily. The healing weapon depends entirely on how high your hp is. If you have over 50 you should by a scorchstone, either red, blue, or green. Only buy jade if you have well over 100-200hp. If you have less than 50hp I would recommend getting illusen’s earth potion/mud mixture, or bubbling goo. The 3 attacking weapons make a huge difference to the result of a battle (well, duh :P), but the particularly strong weapons are very expensive, ranging up to 50 million! Lost desert daggers do 6 icons and for only about 10k*. Attack forks do 5 icons for about 1k* (they also defend 1 light icon). Improved lightning beams cost 800np* and do either 4 or 5 icons. These are the three main weapons I would recommend for a beginner. You can buy three lost desert daggers, or one of each, it doesn’t really matter. It all depends on your budget. Good defensive weapons are leaf shield and large metal shield. These only cost a few thousand but are brilliant at defending. Raising petpet levels really doesn’t make a whole lot of difference so training your petpet is not essential. Neither are abilities at this stage. Eventually these will be very beneficial to you but the amount of faeries you need costs quite a lot of nps. When you go to the battledome and go to 1-player opponents you will notice that punchbag bob is 0 difficulty. Do not battle him first as he actually has 5000hp. Battle the chia clown. On the first round click on one of your attack weapons and your large metal shield. On the drop down menu click on fierce attack. Have you beaten him? If you haven’t repeat the process. If your hp is into red or yellow then heal. You should win without too much difficulty. After this the chia clown will become harder every time you beat him. You can continue beating him or try a new opponent. The higher difficulty means the opponent will be harder. If you lose never mind, you just need to train a little more. I hope this article is enough to improve your ability in the battledome :) *these prices will change a lot, especially now as there is a lot of war inflation. This is when almost all battledome related items rise in value because they are in such high demand. |
