It was nice to finally be able to drive the 'bird without it leaving a trail of smoke as it went down the road.

Every Wednesday evening during the spring, summer and fall months, all of the local car collectors and street rodders, at one time or another, get together at the WalMart parking lot, or different car dealers and other businesses parking lots for Free Car Shows for the public. It's also a good time for talking with all of the others about their cars and projects everyone is working on. They all knew the story about my engine because I went to several of the Wednesday night meets with my engine smoking pretty bad. Everyone asked why I would put so much time and money into restoring the car and I didn't fix the engine.

I had to explain the story many times to all the guys. Some of them got downright angry at the shop that did my rebuild, and they were all behind me 100 percent. They spread the word and everyone basically quit buying parts from or bringing engines to the shop that botched mine. After everything was finally settled, I did put the word out that they had paid for the repair, and people started doing business there again. It's really nice to have the support of all the car enthusiasts at a time like that. Everyone of them was a great help and it is really appreciated.

I did a little head scratching to come up with the Liscense Plate "TPLS 63" for my car. If anyone hasn't figured it out by now, it stands for "TOPLESS 63". I also use it for my email address.
