Journal of Lily's First Year
March, April, May 2004
March 10th, 2004 - Lily said the letter "d" for the first time. She said "doo".
March 13th, 2004 - Lily used the letter "m" for the first time.
March 19th, 2004 - Lately Lily has been trying to grab the spoon away from me when I feed her. So I let her hold it today, and she STARTED FEEDING HERSELF WITH THE SPOON!!! I kept handing her the spoon with food on it, and she put it in her mouth without spilling, and ate all of her breakfast that way. After breakfast, I took her to her pediatrician appointment. She got two more shots. Her current weight is 16 lbs 13 oz, and her height is 27.25 inches. Another important thing happened today. She was in her stroller in the sitting up position. I lowered the back to the the lay down position, and she continued sitting without support for about half a minute, before she layed down. She also had water for the first time today, and meat for the first time.
March 20th, 2004 - Lily turned 6 months old today.
March 31st, 2004 - I picked up Lily in her crib so that she was standing and holding onto the side. When I let go she continued standing! She stood long enough for me to go upstairs, get the camera, go back downstairs and take her photo, before she layed back down.
April 17th, 2004 - LILY SAID "MAMA"!!! I was feeding her, and she was saying things like, "muh", "mom", "meh", when I was trying to teach her "mama". Then she paused, and said "mama" clearly. Although I'm sure she doesn't know what it means. She said, "mom" today too, before she said "mama". So would that be her first word? Or is the first word, the first one the baby understands?
April 20th, 2004 - Lily turned 7 months old
April 29th, 2004 - Today Lily pulled herself up to a standing position in her crib without my help. She just held onto the side in order to pull up. I forgot to write last week that Lily said another word. On Wednesday or Friday last week when I was feeding Lily, I was saying "yum yum" to her, and she repeated me by saying "yum".
