Change of Command March 6, 1964 |
Al Reid, CDR, the skipper of the Tracer 1962-64 always tells me that the Tracer was the pinnacle of his Naval career. Under his leadership, the Tracer won two "E" Awards as the most efficient ship in the squadron and the Ney Award as the Outstanding General Mess Afloat in competition with 775 Naval Ships. Capt. Barney carried on the tradition. His son said recently told me that this was also his dad's favorite ship too.. |
