Station One Near Alaska
Spring, 1964
LTJG Bruce Johnsen at the helm, 1964
Radronone had five duty stations located approximately 500 miles off the west coast shore to be patrolled by AGR's.  We would go to sea for 14-24 days and then return inport for approximately 10-14 days.  Station one was located off the coast of Alaska.  At 10.4 knots  top speed and the winds and currents against you, it was a long and hard trip.  The sea was a little rougher and the temperature was lower on Station One.   Bruce Johnsen sent me these photos taken with his 120MM slide camera.   No one looked forward to duty on station one.
