High Art Music and lyrics by Tracey Leanne Lutz
Background I wrote this song after watching the movie High Art for the first time. After watching that film, I was really inspired to write a song, and so I slightly based my writing on the movie, but more I based it on the feeling I got from watching the film.
Lyrics Verse 1: Hard times are upon us as we reach for our dreams Hope is beyond us and we rip at the seams Day turns to night time as I shut my body down I’d feel much better if you were around But I don’t hear a sound No I won’t make a sound While I weep ‘cause you’re not around Verse 2: Walk to the doorway and try to lock you out You’ll get in anyway in my heart there is no doubt Why are you waiting to be with me? You should know better, you don’t even need a key To get to me To be with me Come be with me Instrumental Verse 3: Silent lover where have you gone? I sit here lonely and sing my song You are the angel who comes to me at night It’s time to rest now, I’ll give up the fight And I’ll be with you tonight I’ll dream of you tonight I’ll see you up in heaven tonight Good-bye sweet world, good-bye Repeat last line and fade
