EROSION
CALENDAR
The erosion calendar is
simple. Set up a wooden frame on the ground,
4 feet wide by 8 feet long. Fill the frame with the most common soil in
your area.
I put my calendar next to the kennels so I see it every day. On each
day,
place one footprint in the box and mark it with a Popsicle stick,
tagged with a date and weather conditions. You can do the same with
matches or cigarette butts. From one day to the next, you can see
exactly how the tracks
and articles age in your particular area. It's simple and it works.
Another Tom Brown Jr. trick of the trade.
