About me

I was born in Western Australia in 1964, and grew up there. I began publishing stories, and later poetry, in my teens.

After a degree in English at Curtin University, I did postgrad work in Women's Studies in the UK, and in French through UNE in New South Wales, where I completed a thesis on a contemporary French novelist (Anne F. Garreta:
link to a website about her).

I have worked in libraries, bookselling and editing, and have taught at various universities.

I lived for a number of years in both the UK and the USA, but have now returned to Western Australia with my partner and children.
