Administration & Liners:
Tree administration for this tree was by dcat, with jewel-case liners designed by Rick
McGrath.
Notes on the source:
Research through the archives of the Vancouver Sun finally revealed that the date of this
particular recording was February 17, 1974, rather than the previously-suggested date
of Feb 2, 1971. Nevertheless, this is still one of the earliest Van Morrison concerts to
turn up. This concert was originally slated to be at the
Queen Elizabeth Theatre, but was moved at the last minute to the War Memorial
Gym at the University of British Columbia.
Once you've listened to the concert, then you can read an
interview that Rick did with Van
following Van's 1971 concert in Vancouver. Check out Rick's
web site too, for an assortment of other rock star interviews from that era
that Rick did for Vancouver's great underground newspaper, the Georgia Straight.
Thanks to Rick McGrath for sharing this historic recording!
Van Tree Policy:
Please respect the efforts and the wishes of the dedicated bands of
volunteers who put countless hours of time and energy into producing and treeing these
rare live performances: please do not offer any of these tree volumes for
sale.
