From the press release for this broadcast:
"One of Canada's most popular bands brings its own brand of seasonal cheer to Bravo!'s intimate concert space in a very special instalment of the Gemini Award-winning series Live at the Rehearsal Hall. In 2004, Toronto's Barenaked Ladies released the album Barenaked for the Holidays, an eclectic collection of traditional carols and infectious originals inspired by Christmas and Hanukkah. A highly successful tour for the album followed, to be repeated this year.

Thanks to this exclusive television appearance hosted by Marilyn Denis, viewers are treated to spirited renditions of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, Jingle Bells and I Saw Three Ships by the quirky quintet without having to leave the warmth of their living rooms. The band's own Elf's Lament, Blow Blow Thou Winter Wind (from the Stratford Festival's As You Like It), One Week and If I Had a Million Dollars are also featured in the 11-song setlist. The performance sparkles with the Ladies' trademark banter and an enthusiastic audience of fans both young and not-so-young.

Founded in 1988 by singer-guitarists Steven Page and Ed Robertson, Barenaked Ladies have sold over ten million records worldwide. Along the way, they have developed a dedicated following and a reputation as one of NorthAmerica's best-loved live acts. The band also includes Jim Creeggan (vocals, bass), Kevin Hearn (vocals, keyboards, accordion, guitar) and Tyler Stewart (vocals, drums)."
