James Brown
The Apollo Theater
New York
1968
This is from a TV broadcast on WNEW-TV, New York, and was entitled "James
Brown Man to Man" Other released Apollo performances from this era are:
Live At the Apollo 62, Live at the Apollo Vol. II (1967), Revolution
of the Mind 1971. While the exact date of this show - James
Brown Man to Man - is unknown, it is NOT one of the previously released
commercial Apollo performances.
There are probably better versions in circulation and if you've got one,
let's trade. This one has less than average audio and video resolution because
it's a 1000Xth generation tape source. But it IS James Brown in his prime.
The TV producers cut away at some of the oddest times - like when James dancing
hard in Kansas City - but it's mostly excellent footage.
