Miles said a number of times that Bill Evans was the inspiration for Kind Of Blue, the best-selling jazz record to date and certainly one of the finest (Bill also wrote the classic tune Blue In Green from that album, though Miles took the credit). Evans made over 50 records of his own and almost all are excellent. His merging of classical structure with unique harmonic settings and gorgeous inner voice movement is still unmatched, and inspired Jarrett, Mays, Mehldau, Kirkland and countless others. His gentle touch is phenomenal.

This show is a superb recording of a typically excellent Evans performance (and this is considered perhaps his weakest era!). Geller only played a couple shows with the trio, and sits in here for a few of his own compositions. Bill's sensitivity shines through as always.
