The Mamas & Papas
Unknown Location, Venue and Date
I have some serious doubts about this show's authenticity. It's about 1 ptich
off the normal sound of the M&P so either the tape was significantly
slowed or it was (my guess) an Impersanator band. The voices just don't sound
right. Some different instrumentation (i.e. organ and synthesizer)
and some new arrangements of classic songs make me even more suspicious.
And they talk about the M&P in the 3rd person rather than 1st person.
And phrases like "let's go back to 1966 rock 'n roll' and "we're just like
those big Las Vegas shows" just sound so dated. And finally, like we need
one more fact for this case, they name off a few of the musicians - neither
of whom played for the Mamas & Papas.
