This may well be Monk's last recorded performance (his last public appearance was in July 1976), as well as possibly his only recorded performance with "Little Rootie Tootie" playing drums. This recording has been modified --- using Magix ACL10, the pitch was lowered very slightly; the gaping hole in "We See" was closed up (though the tape distortion could not be fixed); volume levels were increased; and, the severe volume fluctuations in Wein's outro were modulated. There is some light tape distortion throughout but on the whole the sound is very good -- don't be surprised if the original of this is languishing in Columbia's vaults... and surfaces some day.
