Ted Nugent and Amboy Dukes
Richard's Niteclub
Atlanta
1974
This is a great soundboard recording of Ted Nugent from the final stages
of the Amboy Dukes, circa 1974, featuring tunes you may not ever have heard
before if you only know Ted's solo work.
If you know the history of the Amboy Dukes, you know that there was a boatload
of personnel changes, with Ted remaining the only constant. This was the
second-to-the-last lineup, when they were performing as only a power trio.
It was a little while after this that Ted secured the vocal services of Derek
St. Holmes and put the final nail in the Amboy Dukes coffin. Everything went
in a different direction after that --- more commercial, more gonzo, more
polish --- but no, I'm not bitter about that. These songs are mostly
culled from 2 albums that are IMHO, the cream of Ted's work ---- Tooth,
Fang and Claw, and Call of the Wild.
