Additional notes from one of the Sons' roadies; these are not included on
the inserts so you may wish to save this message for these specifics:

Although the album was assembled in 1970 and edited at the Church,
none of the recording was done at The Church. The practice tapes date back
about three years, and the live "No Mo" and "Beggin' You Baby" were from a
Fillmore West (Carousel Ballroom) show in 1969. The "Virginia Woolf" jam
is from before Geoffrey joined the group in the fall of 1967, and the
other practice hall tapes ("Murgatroyd," "Miles Around," "Yo' Mama") come
from early 1968 at the Heliport. The "Lucille" jam is live from the New
Orleans House in Berkeley, 1968, when Terry had failed to show up. "What
are we doing here" and "Smoke El Ropo" are jams from one of the last shows
the first band did, around April 1970 at Berkeley Community Theater.
"Roll out The Barrel" (Beer Barrel Polka) is from a Winterland show in
1969.

***** SAVE THIS MESSAGE *****

I believe I need to clarify some information on the 3 treed SONS discs.

"Minus Seeds and Stems" is LP sourced...it was a limited LP pressing back
around 1970, and I believe the master tape is long gone.  A person named
Michael Briggs (with The Sons permission, I believe) pressed CDS of "Minus
Seeds and Stems" in the early 1990's.  I recall seeing Michael selling
these CDS at a Sons show at the Maritime Hall a few years back.  Michael
has a HUGE record collection, and at one time operated a vinyl shop in
Marin County (one he purchased from Van Morrison parents).

And, yes there is some static on the 7-12-75 show, I think we forgot
to mention this to you all.

And lastly, regarding the Nov. 28, 1975 show, it is just the "highlights" of
that show - sorry if it was not clear - but that is why there is fading
between cuts. Believe me, all the branches know what they are doing as they
pass these down to the leafs.  A huge thanks to Robert and DCAT for their
hard work and dedication in passing on the music.
