Hailing from Shetland, Jenna is undoubtedly one of the finest fiddle players
ever to grace the traditional music scene. Nominated as ‘Best Instrumentalist’
at the 2007 Scots Trad Awards, her new release showcases music and song from
Shetland and Scotland featuring Kevin Mackenzie, Bethany Reid, Duncan Lyall,
James Thomson, Iain Sandilands and Martin O’Neill. Since releasing her debut
solo album ‘With Silver & All’ in 2005 and being awarded ‘Best Up and
Coming Artist’ at the 2005 Scots Trad Music Awards. Jenna was invited by Aly
Bain and Jerry Douglas to perform on the third series of the Transatlantic
Sessions. Jenna is a protégé of the greatest names in Shetland
fiddling, Dr Tom Anderson MBE and Willie Hunter.
Laughing Girl released on Footstompin Records is the second solo
album from Shetland Fiddler Jenna Reid, and promises to deliver the bright
talents of one of Scotland’s most prominent young musicians.
