Muddy Waters
Paris
1972
This is a good cd of Muddys' band from the early seventies and I kind of
like it better than the latte 70's stuff - which got speeded up and a little
more frenzied. This is a solid, show of straight ahead blues. Everything
just a little slower than the bands' stuff from the end of the seventies.
If you know this band, this cd is one you've got to have for your collection.
It sounds like the vocal crowd at this 1972 Paris concert includes plenty
of young rock fans, expressing their appreciation for their idol (who by
this time had influenced everyone from Dylan to the Rolling Stones). From
the slow burn of the opening songs, this cd picks up steam with each song
and then smashes into the finale with "I Got My Mojo Workin'" - one of my
favorite closing songs. Indeed, Waters and band are in top form here and
it's a great listen.
