Born in Teboulba, Tunisia in 1967, the singer and oud player, Dhafer Youssef lives since 1990 in Vienna, Austria. Dhafer Youssef bathed since his childhood in the traditional songs and music from Islam. Enrooted in the soufi tradition, the music of our oud player and composer interpret is open now to other influences, such as improvised music. His talent stands also in the poetic approach of his game, as well as his profound and emotive singing, that makes his voice one of the most interesting of the actual scene. We were used to Dhafer Youssef music fusion between oriental, jazz and electronic.
