JOSEPH SPENCER TRACY ![]() Joe Tracy was born in 1955 to Nadine and John Tracy at St. Joseph's Hospital in L.A. His grandmother, Louise, founded John Tracy Clinic in Los Angeles in 1942; and the clinic named after John who was born profoundly deaf. ![]() Joe's grandfather is the world renowned actor Spencer Tracy. Spencer received nine Best Actor nominations and two consecutive Oscars for his performances in Boys Town and Captains Courageous. The legacy continues... Joe, the only grandchild of Louise and Spencer Tracy, has been drawing since the age of four and followed in his father's footsteps. In the 1960's, John worked at the Disney Studios as an artist in the props department. Joe self- taught himself for over thirty years with a few years of art classes. His work is currently on display at the Fort Lewis Military Museum in Tacoma, Washington. ![]() After serving in Desert Storm in 1990/91, Joe was assigned to the Army Museum where he created the Desert Storm War display. In addition, Joe donated his military uniform and the surrender flag that he kept after he aided in the capture of several Iraqi soldiers. Joe's artwork also appears on several military aircrafts such as helicopters, hummers, and other military vehicles. Joe was a Crew Chief on the OH58 Scout Helicopters during his Army tour. After completing his military assignment in 1995, a total of 11 years, (he served in the U.S. Marines Corps from (1974-78) and the U.S. Army from (1988-95), Joe directed his focus on his passion and talents as an artist. Joe enrolled himself in Associates in Arts, California Art Institute, attended Moorpark College and the Learning Tree University. He chose to be in a professional artistic atmosphere and to explore different mediums which included, Life Drawing, Head and Figure Drawing, Quick Sketch, Illustration, Script Analyst, Graphic Design, Animation Layout Design, Storyboarding for Animation, Animal Life Drawing, Marker Rendering Techniques among others. He experienced all of his professional education in the Los Angeles area. Today, Joe Tracy is a freelance illustrator in the Los Angeles area, his client list consist of Davis and Glick Productions in Hollywood, California, creating storyboard layouts for Soldier of Fortune, Power of Attorney, and Kick Boxer and the Kid. He also created storyboards for American Television in Santa Monica, CA., new season trailers for Baywatch, T.W.Is.M. Records, (a Division of A&M Records), as well as developing presentation storyboards for a possible two hour animated film. His impressive list also includes product illlustration and design for Bright Ideas, Westlake Village, CA. Joe Tracy has done artwork for Clint Walker, John Amos, The Will Rogers Family, Jack Lemmon, Nicolas Cage, Anthony Hopkins, Tom Cruise, Rosie O'Donnell, Ardeshir Radpour (USC'S Tommy Trojan) Adam West, Stanley Kramer, Danny Devito, Morgan Freeman, and The Carol Vitale Show among others. Joe recently created web-site designing for Clint Walker and Carol Vital. Joe specializes in creating all kinds of portraits, caricatures, storyboards, character design, and illustrations for his Custom Cards.
