Countermagick

           There is a such a thing as an occult attack and they can be against you. There are many symptoms which can range from recurrent nightmares, psychosomatic disturbances, and runs of serious bad luck. However, to jump to the conclusion at the onset of such symptoms that the cause is magickal attack is irresponsable and stupid. The only way to be sure you are in fact under a magickal attack is if you have been informed one way or another. Should this be your problem you will need to use some form of magickal defense. If you should suspect you are underattack, try to avoid falling into paranoia. Many people feel it is best to have a good friend do this sort of work for you on your behalf, but I feel that if you know in fact that you are a victim of magickal attack why bother. Whatever you chose be very careful.
            The first thing to do should you be under magickal attack is divine the source and nature of the attack. It is very likely you will know your attacker. Generally speaking there are two reasons behind magickal attack: lust and hate. Your course of magickal action for countermagick for the attacks should be to errect a magickal protection feild to weather the storm and if possible turn back the attack upon the attackee. To do this you will need to anticipate the attacks and often they come not at random but rhythmically. In occult warfare, passive defense is the best form of retaliation.
              When a witch mounts a magickal attack, should the spell misfire or the victim is adequately protected it will return to the witch who sent it. Some good sure bets for magikal defense are the magick circle and the pentacle of protection. Iron and protective herbs can of course be helpful also.

The Pentacle of Protection:
On a Saturday or Tuesday midnight with the moon waxing, cast and purify your regular circle, using either dragon's blood incense or one part church incense, one part lignum aloes, one part powdered alum, and five drops of cedarwood oil. Next take your taileman paper, and cut three four inch squares from it. You will need to exorcise the paper with fire and water. Then, using the pen and ink or art (dragon's blood ink or bat's blood ink work well for this) draw the five pointed star on them first. After you have drawan the figure in fill in the magickal symbols and words by starting at the top point and working around clockwise to finish in the centre. Chant each word outloud as you write it and also chant these words as you work:
"Be ye far from us, all hostility, deceit, and illusion, in the name of Abdia!"
"Be ye far from us, all hostility, deciet, and illusion, in the name of Ballater!"
Once this is finished repeat the proces using your Athame to trace over the star and symbols above the paper and visualise them buring in the air with blue witch fire. Now take your second piece of parchment and draw the six-pointed star, or Hexagram of Solomon (photo coming soon) and inscrbing the T-shaped cross in the centre last. Once the ink has dried retrace the inverted triangel with salt water from your cup, chanting:
"So therefore he who would govern the works of fire must first asperge with lustral water of the loud resounding sea."
Then taking the incense trace the the upright triangle in the air above the star chanting: "An when after all the phantoms are banished, thou shalt perceieve that holy formless fire, that which darts and flashes through the hidden depths of the universe: Hear thou the voices of fire!"
Then, retrace the whole star yet again with the Athame, this time in silence, visualising the symbol glowing in blue light.
The thrid design on the thrid piece of paper should be written in blood with your pen of art. You can use your own blood or that of a beefsteak, chicken, or lamb chop purchased from the supermarket. Before writing with the blood be sure you clean your pen of art throughly so that no ink is mixed. The last design is the Seal of Solomon and in tradition was the symbol that imprisioned seventy-two Djinn in a brazen vessel. Once you have drawn the symbol and had it dry, retrace over it with your Athame and charge it strongly with light and conjuring using these words:
Bound, bound, bound be all deamons and
powers of adversity from the
north, south, east, and west!
Bound, bound, bound be all ill-wishers and thos that practice violence agains the bearer of this!
Bound, bound, bound shall be all;
bound and sealed from X (witchname), son of Y (parent name) and Z (parent name).
Bound and held subject to his will.
Once you have completed all three designs place the Secret Seal between the Pentagram and Hexagram who should be facing outward with the stars visible. Using an exorcised needle and red thread neatly sew around the four edges to combine all three papers into a permanent packet. Chant the following words over this packet while holding it over the incense and pressing the tip of your Athame blade against it:
O Pentacle of Power
be thou fortress and defense to
(magickal name) against all foes, visible and
invisible, in ever magickal work!
As you chant visualise the blue fire passing down the Athame to charge the pentacle. To complete your ritual draw the triple cross in the air with your Athame and seal it with the words "So mote it be!" Also, you will need to make a small wallet of chamois leather, but I reccommend red silk, to contain the pentacle and then place this wallet on a red cord or ribbon to be worn around the neck of the bearer.
Once you have hung the pentacle of power about your neck, draw around yourself the grand magickal circle as you normally would, however use these chants and cast it in blue light. Before you cast your circle you will need to get any amulets you need during, including the magistellus. Once you cast the circle for this purpose it is not advisable to leave it, so food, clothing, water, pillows, and the like are also things to consider depending on how long you will need to remain in this protection. Be sure everything you bring into the circle has been exorcised with fire and water and is clean before being brought to the circle. As usual cast your circle and exorcise the ground with water and fire and for this ritual you will need Tellurian Incense. You will need to demagnetise the ground wihtin the circle, but also use a magickal gaurd at the four quarters.
Four nooks in this house for holy angels,
a post in the midst, that's Christ Jesus,
Lucas, Marcus, Matthew, Johannes,
God be in this house, and all that belongs us.
Or the Victorian version:
Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John,
bless this bed that I lie on!
If you do not wish to use archangels and evangelists or do not want to use the Christianised verson of the for elements (Michales and Mark of fire; Raphael and John, air; Gabriel and Matthew, water; and Uriel and Luke, earth) you can use the older four watchtowers. If you wish to do this place on of your laps of art at the east just outside the circle boundary and light it, take your wand in both hands and raise it high above your head, close your eyes and slowly chant and invocation to the powers of the air:
All-wise Eagle, Great Ruler of Tempest,
Storm, and Whirlwind, Master of Heavenly,
Vault, Great Pince of the Powers of Air,
be present we pray thee and guard this circle
from all perils approaching from the East!
While you say this invocation imagine a wing from the east start to blow that steadily increses as you repeat it. Reliquish your wand and move clockwise to the south and light a lamp there, when you do this visualise the sun blazing above your head. Raise your Athame over your head in your hand. Use this invocation:
O thou Lion, Lord of Lightenings, Master of
the Solar Orb, Great Prince of the powers of Fire!
Be present, we pray thee, and guard this circle
from all perils apporaching from the south!
Invoke the powers of the west by the chalice that will represent the element water. Sprinkle a few drops of salt water from the chalice to the west as you say this invocation. Visualise a mighty green sea opening at your feet:
O thou Serpent of Old, Ruler of the Deeps,
Guardian of the Bitter Sea, Prince of the
Powers of Water, be present we pray thee and
guard this circle from all perils approaching from the west!
Then going to the north light the lamp and take the pentacle-paten (not your pentacle of protection that you should be wearing), close your eyes and sprinkle a few grains of salt from the disk on the ground outside and chant the spell. As you chant feel the earth tremble underneath your feet:
Black Bull of the North, Horned One,
Dark Ruler of Mountains and all that lies
beneath them. Prince of the Powers of Earth,
be present we pray thee, and guard this circle
from all perils approaching from the north!
Having completed all that return the the centre of the circle and face east, then stand with your legs apart, extend your arms on each side of you and close your eyes and chant "So mote it be!" to seal it. The pose is symbolic of the five-pointed star (pentagram). If you wish you can stand in this pose in the centre of your circle and chant the Hebrew word "Araita!" which signiufies "The One; principle of His unity; The princkiple of His oneness, His changing form being One!"
The last step of the ritual is to place you mandragore or alraun just within the circle peremieter to the north with it's head pointing towards the north, the place of greatest darkness. After this is done settle down in the circle for the magickal blast to be protected. This is adequate protection for the worst types of attacks you will probably ever experince. One should only use the grand circle at the height of an attack because it is very physically limiting. Also, it's good to bring a teleophone into the circle with you. If you step outside the circle it releases it, thereby leaving you instantly suspectable.

Simple Protection Circle Spell
If the above ritual is a little too involved for you, or the circle which you cannot leave too limiting here is an alternative that allows you to go about business as usual. This spell remains effective for around tweleve hours, if you need it to last longer around this time you will need to renew it. To cast it draw and imaginary circle of blue light around you in desoil motion with your Athame in the air while chanting:
I (magickal name) herby surround myself with this
circle of protection across which no hostile
power dare set its foot.

         Should your attacker decide to visit you in person to deliver the curse there are old traditional methods of retalitation and protection. One is to paint or draw pentagrams pointing outwards on your doorsteps and charge them with your Athame and then cover with a doormat. After the pentagram nail horseshoes or horns upward over any enterance into your home. Another method is to hand an old knife or sword on the front and back door surrounded by a bay leaf wreath. Also, there is the method of hammering three iron nails into each of the doors; two below and one about in a triangular formation. Interestingly, with this spell traidition dictates the nails should come from a coffin (I'm assuming the lid of here). Yet another method is to bury a witch bottle underneath your doorsteps or a bottle full of bent nails and pins.
      There are many other things to keep in mind in matters of countermagick and protection. Remember, iron is a very important element in most witch bottles and the like. This is because of it's "jamming" or "scrambling" abilities of witch energy. Also, for protection from one (or if you yourself while under a curse) are gifted in materalising as a medium place a small saucer of vinegar in every room at the time you expect an attack. The acid appears to absorbe unfamiliar energy in some way and prevents unpleasent materialisations and poltergeist. If you are unable to do this for any reason there is another method. The alternative to the acid is halve some onions and place a newly cut half in each room. Afterward DO NOT eat the onions, this is very bad, instead throw them out immediately. I would also say try to be careful that pets and small children do not get into either the vinegar or onions so you may want to place them fairly out of reach.
        There may be a time when someone comes to you who suspects they are the victim of an attack. When this happens be very careful and skeptical and try to think of every other reason to disuade them form this path of thinking. If you do come to the conclusion they are under some kind of attack and cannot or will not preform a countermagick ritual for themself you can preform a ritual for them.

The Rowan Cross Spell
(To be done for someone else)
Tie two small rowan tigs together to form a cross. Tie them with red thread or yarn and mentally charge the cross with light as you chant:
By this cross of rowan,
I (magickal name) forbid all adverse and hostile forces
entry to the house and home of (bearer's name)
I forbid you his flesh and blodd, body and soul.
I sternly forbid you entrance to his mind, fears,
and strenghts until you have traversed every
hill and dale, struggled through every stream
and river, counted every grain of sand on every
shore, and enumerated every stary withing the
night sky!
Then hang the cross around the bearer's neck saying:
About thy neck this cross I place
cross of quickbeam, cross of grace;
may it safely guard thy way
and keep thee safely night and day.
Heed this charm, attend to me;
as my word, so mote it be!

Hexbreaking
    If none of the above works, you make have to do something more specific such as a hexbreaking. Hexbreaking is also known as Uncrossing spells. For your basic uncrossing sells you will need a completely black (meaning all the way through) black taper candle. Before you begin, dip the black candle in melted white wax nine times. The purpose of this is to show the hidden nature of your attacker's curse and that it cannot hide from you. Then, following the base of the candle with a quilting pin carve each of the following vereses:
Thy I will see
And spells I bind.
I banish you
and all your kind.
Each verse should form one of four lines that run from the base of the candle to the top of the candle. Once this is done place the candle in a cauldron or large metal container. (Metal because it has the power to disrupt and scatter unwanted energy.) Drop a small amount of white wax onto the inside centre of the container and press the base of the candle into it so it will remain there. Pour just enough Holy Water in the container so the level of the water is half as high as the height of the candle. (Be sure while you are pouring the water you don't get the wick wet) And recite the following chant nine times:
Thy will I see and spells I bind.
I banish you and all your kind.
Now Light the candle and allow it to burn down until it is extinguisehd. It is especially important for this candle to burn all the way without interpution. If you need to stop the spell you will have to begin again at the beginning with a new candle. Also, discard the incomplete spell candle into running water, just as you would with your completed spell candle.

Protection During Sleep:
If you know your attacker protection during sleeping (your most vaunerable time) is helpful. This is a simple spell which can be used in this situation. Write her/his name or alias in red ink on a verbena leaf (or leaf-shaped paper). Then burn the leaf with some old oak leaves and sprinkle the ashes at the southwestern most corner of the room in which you sleep.

To Remove a Curse:
This is a simple spell to remove a curse. It also sends the curse back to it's sender seven times worse. However, you will need to know the name and birthdate of the person who placed the curse upon you to begin. Also needed are two candles eight inches tall, one white and one black. Carry a heavy duty safety pin and bag of charcoal as well. If the person you are sending the curse back to is female, you will need the Queen of Swords tarot card; if male use the Knight of Swords tarot card. This spell should be preformed between the hours of midnight and one am during a full moon. Two spots are required for this spell: a spot (outside) where nothing grows and a piece of land wher ethe grass is green near a bush or tree. In the spot which is barren, dig a hole twelve inches deep and wide and fill it with the charcoal. With a knife, make seven circles aroun the white candle one inch apart. Place the white candle in the green grass. With a different knife make seven circles around the black candle as well. On the bottom segment of the candle engrave the name and birthdate of your curser with the safety pin and the word "drevida." Light the white candle and then the black candle. Repeat "creo del macres ete prestwer" until both candles have burnt down to the end of the first secton. Extinguish both candles. Engrave the name and birthdate of teh accused on the tarot card anc bury this with the candle in charcoal. Bury the white candle in the ground next to the green. In seven days teh curse will be fully removed.
