Ritual for the Dead
Ritual Soap: Borage

Alter Decorations: Willows, Violets, Lilies, and the departed's Favourite Flowers.

Incense: Basil, Lotus, and Lily.

Invocation:
Brother, hearth of burning might
Torch the fires, fill the night,
Warm all homes across the land
While midst the ancient stones
We stand.

Father, wind of dancing rites
Waltz the flames, grant them flight.
Carry safe the hearth's first spark
Throughout the land
Ignite the dark.

Sister, sea of welling souls
Cleanse the Grail, complete this bowl,
Caress you shores with golden dawn
Till magick flows
Upon the lawn.

Mother, Earth of singing ken,
Chant the wards, protect this glen,
Hum low you song with drum and fife
Bring the White Hart back
To life.

Cousin, time of healing power
Calm the moment, shape peace this hour.
Wrap all that lives in soothing balm,
While shining ones take heed
Our psalm.

Family, heirs of binding ties
Join your hands as fires die,
Let your love breath from out this cairn
As spirit, whose light keeps all
From harm.

Prayer:
Goddess, to you I open a door, and bring the spirit of (deceased's name).  Let him/her join with the Lion!  Join with the Druids!  Know the Grail and the Loom.  Teach him/her the magick of being by the light of the harvest moon.  Teach him/her the music of the bards.  We draw now the sacred runes.
Goddess, to you comes this chld of light walking in the path of ancients.  Join him/her with Taliesin.  Join him/her with the Old Ones; teach of teh Piep and Braid.  Show the magic of unicorns, the dance of lord with maid.  Give us a star to wish on that our hearts might be stayed...

Activies:
- If the deceased practiced magick, now is the time to dispose of their tools in whatever manner they requested.  Some of them may be given away, others buried with them, etc.
- At some point their spirit should be welcomed to the circle for the last time to take part before moving on.
