| Agunua - A serpent god of the Solomon Islands. All other gods are merely aspects of Agunua. The first coconut from each tree is sacred to him. Aluluei - The Micronesian god of navigation and knowledge. He makes his home in sandbars and has two faces, one to see where he is going and the other to see where he has been. Bunjil - An Australian sky god who made men out of water and gave mankind weapons, tools, and religious ceremony. Daramulun - Another Australian sky god and hero. There are many tales of his adventures and he is usually portrayed with a mouthfull of quartz and a huge phallus and he carries a stone axe. Gidja - An Austrialian moon god who created women in the Dream Time by castrating Yalungur. Kallin Kallin punished Gidja for this action however and Gidja floated out to sea and ended up in the sky where he became the moon. Io - "Io of the Hidden Face" The Supreme being of the Maori in New Zealand and master of all other gods; he is known only to the priesthood. Kuklikimoku - The Polynesian god of war. His colouts are yellow and reda dn his he the crested feather helmet of the Hawaiians. Marruni - The Melanesian God of earthquakes; his tail terrified his wives so he cut it into pieces and from them were made humans and animals. Maui - A Polynesian trickester hero god who lived when the world was still being created and fought on the side of teh humans contsantly trying to get them a better deal. He raises the sky and snared the sun. When Hina killed him he brought death into the world. Tawhaki - Polynesian god of lightening and thunder who was handsome and noble |
