| Hina or Hine - Polynesian goddess of darkness who brought death to all humankind by slaying the god Maui. She drifed off to the moon while sailing and decided to stay there and became Hina the Watchwoman and a patron goddess of travelers. Pele - A Polynesian goddess of sorcery and volcanic fire. She lives in Mt. Kilauea in Hawaii. Although only those that descended from her worship her there are alters of Pele built beside lava streams. |
