Egyptian Gods
Ab - grain god.

Amon - The god of secrets, wind, and fertility and also referred to as Amon-Ra (a combination of Amon and Ra).  Amon is usually shown with the large, curving horns of a ram unique to Nile Valley but sometimes he is seen as the sphinx.  He had thoughsands of children with Khons, Hapi, Bast, and Neith among them.

Amun - One of the most spiritual gods of the Egypitan gods he symbolises the element air and is "The Invisible One."

Anjur - A god of the power of the sun who's elements are fire and air.  He is depicted as a warrior wearing a headdress with four tall, straight plumes. 

Atum - The sun god who in some myths is the creator of the universe.  Astrologically he is related to the sign leo and is the father of Shu and Tefnut.

Bes - An Egyptian dwarf god who was also depicted full face, not profile.  Originally he was the protective deity of the royal house of Egypt but he evolved into a popular household deity.  It was believed he gaurded against evil spirits, killed snakes, protected children, and warded off misfortune.  He is also associaed with human pleasures and fertility and assisted Tawert in childbirth.

Chons - The god of the moon.

Duamutef - One of the sons of Horus who protected the stomach of the deceased.

Geb - "The Green Man."  God of the earth who symbolises the element fire.  He is a green skinned man with a goose on his head and often shown lying beneath the feet of Shu with his phallus pointing straight up.  He imprioned the souls of the dead, disallowing them to move on to the afterlife who's laughter caused the earth to shake.

Gengenver - A fowl god in the form of a goose who laid the Cosmic Egg.

Horus - The son of Isis and Osiris and god the all-seeing eye.  "The Mighty One of Transformations" his anmial is the falcon.

Imhotep - A god of healing who was raised from mortality to god status.

Imseti - The god who protected the liver of the dead.

Khepera - The sun god known as "The Self-Created" and Kherpi also.  He symbolises the element air and his symbols is the scarab beetle.

Khnum - The god of childbirth who is occassionally shown as a ram-headed human at a potter's wheel forming the child in the womb with his clay.

Min - "The Firm One" a god of rain, agriculture, fertility, and protector of travellers and roads.  He sybmolises fertility and sexual prowess.

Montu - The god of war; "Nomad."

Osiris - The god of life and death.  In the beginning he ruled the world of men after Ra had abandoned the world to rule the skies but then his brother Set murdered him.  By the magic of Isis he was able to live again.  Because he was the first living thing to die then he became the lord of the dead. 

Ptah - The creator god of Memphis who created the bodies in which man's souls dwelt and the cosmos.  He also is said to have created the elder deities and is shown as a bald man, a hawk, or a scarab beetle and is invoked for stability.

Qebehsenuf - One of Horus' four sons, the god who protected the intestines of the dead.

Ra - Sun god and supreme deity and creator.  He created the eight great gods and the human race sprang from his tears.  He traveled the sky every day passing over the lands and then going to the underworld.  Because of this he is also considered the lord of the underworld.  Also, he stopped wars between humans and was seen a human with a flacon or ram head.  He may also be invoked for cat magic.

Sebek - The crocodile god also called Sobek.  He is the one who assists in the birth of Horus in the Egyptian Book of the Dead.

Seker - The god of light and protector of souls passing to the underworld.  Usually he is depicted with the head of a hawk and wrapped like a mummy.

Set - The god of evil and darkness.  He is best known for murdering his brother but at the same time he was a revered protector of Egypt.  Set was on the earlier deities as a god of the night, a source of strength, and a protector.  He is symbolised by barren wastelands and deserts and also called Seth and Seti.

Shai - Also called Shait he is the god of fate and destiny.

Shu - The god of the air who also personifies the sun's light.  "The Dry One."

Thoth - The god of wisdom and a messenger between the gods and the god of the underworld.  Animals sacred to him are the ibis and the baboon.  Also, he is a god of the moon and is associated with communication, drawing, writing, scholarship, mathematics, medicine, music, astronomy, magic, and time.  He also goes by Djeheuty and Tahuti. 

Upuat - The wolf or jackal-headed god of the dead; "He Who Opens the Way."
