Japanese Gods
Aizen Myoo - God of love who was worshipped by singers, musicians, prostitutes, and landlords.

Amatsu Mikaboshi - The Japanese god of darkness and evil.

Amida-Nyorai - God of the paradise realm whom the Japanese people turned to at their moment of death.

Chimati no Kami - Japanese god of footpahts and crossroads.  Also, he was a phallic deity and personified the positive creative force of life.

Daikoku - The Japanese god of wealth who possesses a "lucky mallet" that can bestor fortune with one stroke.

Dosojin - A Japanese Shinto god who protected travelers and the roads and was also connected to agriculture, fertility, and sex.  Dosojin was invoked to ensure an abundant harvest and was symbolised by the phallus.

Emma-O - The god of the Underworld who judged the souls of the males.  He was depicted wearing a judge's cap and holding a mace and symbolises death, revenge, and destruction.  If a sinner was "saved" thought prayer, he would allow them to pass on to paradise or be reincarnated back on earth.

Fugen Bosatsu - The god of enlightening wisdom, understanding, intuition, intelliegence, and long life.

Hotei - A Japanese god of happiness and one of the seven gods of luck.  He is portrayed with a large belly and occassionally called the "Laughing Buddha."  If you rub his belly you will receieve good fortune.

Ichimokuren - The one-eyed Japanese god who was invoked during droughts to produce rain.

Inari - The god of business, merchants, prosperity, and rice.  As a god foxes were his messenger, but he could aslo be a goddess; when in female form he shapeshifted into a fox.

Izanagi - is the creator god, the father god and symbolises magick.

Nai No Kami - The god who rules over earthquakes.

No-no-kami
- The Japanese god of plants and fields.

Okitsu-Hike - A kitchen god.

O-Kuni-Nushi - An earth god who is associtead with cunning, sorcery, medicine, and self-realisation.

O-Wata-Tsumi - The most important Japanese god of the sea and its creatures.

O-Yama-Tsu-Mi
- The first amd most important mountain god of the eight.  He is the god of all volcanoes and mountains.

Raiden - Japanses thunder god who likes to devour navels.  Because of his affection for navels children must be dressed to cover their stomachs.

Sakyamuni - The Japanese name for Budda.

Shaka-Nyorai - The historical Japanses Buddha who symbolises spiritual enlightenment, spiritual lessons, self understanding and virtue.

Susanoo - The Japanese storm and thunder god and general mischief maker.  This god is also associtead with bravery, trees, snakes, agriculture, rain and the seas.

Tamon - The God of the North and luck.

Yabune - A Japanese house god.
