Skin and Nail Care
Nails
Dill and Horsetail Soak: 
2 tbsp chopped horsetail
2 tbsp dill seeds
1 cup boiling water
Pour water over herbs and steep for one to two hours.  Strain and bottle.  To use warm some of the solution, pour into a small bowl, and soak nails for around ten minutes.

Wheatgrem Hot Oil Fingernail Treatment: To strengthen brittle, weak nails.
Soak nails in wheat germ oil for five minutes.  Wipe off oil, then massage nails. 

Nail Oil:
1 tbs olive oil
2 tsp liquid lecithin
1 vitamin E capsule (broken) OR 1/4 tsp vitamin E oil
Combine all ingredients and whisk until they are well mixed.  Pour into clean container and dab a small amount onto fingers and rub well into the nails.  Leave overnight.

Nail Hardener:
1 tbs water
1 tabs witch hazel
1 1/2 tsp honey
1/2 tsp alum powder
Combine all ingredients and mix well.  Pour into a clean bottle.  Apply to clean, dry nails with cotton ball.

Hands & Feet
Cornmeal Hands Mask:
1/4 cup corn meal
3 tbsp milk
1 drop almond oil
Mix your corn meal and milk then heat this over a low heat until a paste forms.  Now add your almond oil and let cool.  Spread on hands and leave for about 10 minutes.  Rinse.

Lady's Mantle Hand Mask: 
2 tbsp finely ground oatmeal
1 tbsp lady's mantle infusion
1 tsp avocado oil
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp glycerin
Mix all ingredients to form a smooth paste.  Apply to hands before bed and leave on for a half hour, was off, and apply moisturising cream overnight (wearing gloves to bed).  Wash off in the morning.

Lady's Mantle Hand Lotion: For use after Lady's Mantle Hand Mask!
2 tbsp of a strong infusion of lady's mantle
2 tbsp glycerin
2 tsp carrageen moss (Irish Moss) melted in a little hot water
4 tbsp vodka
10 drops essential oil of rose or geranium
Stir glycerin into melted moss.  Add essential oil to vodka then blend into the gylcerin and moss.  Stir in lady's mantle infusion and blend well.  Pour into a jar and cap tightly.  Shake well before use.

Gardener's Hand Cream:
2 tablespoons of shaved beeswaxed
1/2 teaspoon of carnuba wax
2 tablespoons of jojoba oil
1 teaspoon of aloe vera gel
10 drops of vitamin E oil (or 4 capsules; broken)
1 drop of your favourite essentail oil for fragrance
Melt the first four ingredients in a stainless steel pot on the stove or use a glass cup in the microwave.  Remove from heat and beat until cool then add vitamin E oil before the mixture thickens.  Continues beating until this mixture becomes creamy and add your essential oil for frangrance, then continue beating until cream is completely cool.  Spoon the cream into a jar and store in a cool dark place. 

Banana Hand and Foot Cream: For dry hands and feet.
Bananas
Honey
Lemon juice
Natural margarine
Mix and smear on hands and wear white gloves to bed.  Wash off in morning.  For feet smear on feet and wear heavy socks ot bed and wash off in morning.

Deodorising Foot Bath: 
1/2 cup white vinegar
5-6 tbsp epsom salts
1 gallon warm water
Mix and soak feet!

Foot Baths:
I.  Soak feet in a bowl of hot/warm water with two drops of sage essential oil every day for a week.

II  Bathe the feet in a mixture of witch hazel and pine oil for foot odor.

Sage Deodorising Foot Powder: 
1 tablespoon of baking powder
2 drops of sage oil
Mix baking powder and oil in a plastic bag and shake well.  Allow to dry.  Break up any clumps that may form!  Dust feet regularly with the powder and add a teaspoon in teh shoes overnight.

Skincare
Rich Lotion: 
1/4 tsp borax
1/4 cup distilled water
1 tbs wheat germ oil
1 tbs castor oil
1 tbs almond oil
1 tsp vitamin E oil
2 tbs grated beeswax
Dissolve borax into water and set aside.  Mix the oils and beeswax together in a glass measuring cup.  Set the cup in a pan or water over medium heat.  Heat the mixture until the wax is dessolved, stirring occassionally (should take about 10 minutes).  When wax mixture has melted, bring the borax mixture almost to a boil. Slowly add water to the wax mixture, stirring briskly.  Pour the lotion into a container with a tight-fitting lid and allow to cool completely.  Use as needed.
