Caesarian Delivery
Caesarian sections are a popular form of delievery these days for better or worse.  I think it's for worse.  Do these operations really help mother and child?  Are they truely necessary in most cases?  Is it a healthy practice?  Why are they preformed in the first place?

The history of Caesarian deleivery is very long.  They go back all the way to ancient Rome.  However, they were only preformed when a woman was dead and very close to birth in order to save her unborn child.  These days they are preformed routinely for a number of reasons all over the world.  Sometimes these operations are necessary, because of real complications or complications due to medical intervientions, and sometimes they are not necessary.
The reasons for each Caesarian varies.  Sometimes it is because it is the woman's first child.  Other times it is done because the women is "older."  Often the doctors preform them because the baby is "late" or because the timing of birth is clearer.  In some cases the women request them for various reasons, but among them because it fits into their busy lifestyles.

A Caesarian section is an operation in which the fetus is removed from the mother's womb by an obsteriction.  In order to do this the Obstetricion cuts into the abdomen and the wall of the uterus.  Due to the nature of this common operation the mothers recovery time is nearly doubled and she may not be able to walk at all for a day or so afterwards.
