Seculsion:  The Babymoon
In many cultures it is traditional for a new baby and mother to spend the first forty days in seculsion only visited by immediate family.  In some cultures other women of the village bake the mother a special delicacy all forty days.  This allows the new mother and baby to adjust to each other and their new surroundings.
During the first forty days of your baby's life these are the most crucial.  It is during this time that your baby will need to get used to you and your family and learn to trust and love you.  This will be the time when your baby first smiles, and when the child goes from a jumpy newborn to a secure baby.  This is also the mother's time to recover and rest.  Of course, if you take it easier for the first forty days of your baby's life, even stay in bed, then you will recover faster.
