| My Personal Magickal History |
| A lot of people look at my website. Some people think this site is crap, some people just think it's the work of Satan, and others really enjoy it. However, one of the most common comments that show up in my inbox is "you're so young!" or "you're just a teenager, how do you know all this." This page will hopefully answer some of those questions, but I do think a little too much is based on numerical age. Age isn't about how many years you've been on this earth, but about your life experinces; some people get life exerpinces that takes some people thrity years by the age of ten, some people never get much more life exerpince than you average tweleve year old. It's probably pretty safe to say I've always been a strange kid. My grandmother looked after me most of the time when I was a little girl and she was into herbalism and alternative medicine. From everything to herbal teas to reflexology she had a book on it. I loved to read, and eventually I would sit down and read these books. Sometimes she would have me do something out of them. It was never a "bad" thing, it was always looked on as "oh, whatever, let her do it." Eventually, herbalism and healing techniques lead to other things. When I was around eight I became fascinated with Voudou. After quickly reading all the books I could on it, I began praciticing. Later I found a Voudou pracitioner in my area who preformed my initiation. However fascinated by Voudou I was by the age of ten I had moved on to studying other things. I was studying ceremonial and chaos magick. During this time I also began studying the Quabala with my mother. That was probably the extent of my inital study of "magick" because these systems all had one thing in common, they all allowed me to keep my family's Christian faiths. While I do not belive my magickal studies had anything to do with my later religious desicions, they would disagree. Around the time I was studying the Quabala I became unsatisfed with my religion. At that time I was Christian, a member of the United Church of Christ (UCC). As a result, I began studying many eastern philosophies and religions. Around this time I also took an interesting in traditional European witchcraft. Although, for the most part, I practied the Christian variety, it introduced me to European Paganism and Wicca. At the age of thirteen I dedicated myself to Wicca and reamained Wiccan until I was sixteen. I am currently focusing largely on Celtic and Faery related practices. |
