| Basic Wiccan Belifes |
| Both the Goddess and God are revered. This is central to Wiccan thought. Human souls enjoy a series of incarnations. Reincarnation is one of the most widespread of Wiccan beliefs. How and why we incarnate several times is open to mystical speculation. Power can be sent in non-physical form to affect the world in positive ways. In this way, we accept both the practice of magick and it's effectiveness. What is done will be returned to the doer. Exactly how this energy is returned has been a matter of great speculation. The Eart is our home, our Goddess. It is not a tool that we can abuse. Ecological concerns are new in Wicca, but now play an important role. Many rituals are performed to give healing strenght to the Earth. Wiccans are not evangelical. We have no need to go out and spread the word. We answer questions, and post things quietly about our religion but we do not knock on doors asking you questions about your personal beliefs. Wicca accepts that every religion is correct to it's followers. This does not mean we like every religion, but ecumenicist must be the way of life. Wicca accepts memebers from both sexes, from every race, national origin, and in most cases of every sexual preference. Wicca is a religion, not a political organisation. Groups of Wiccans can sometimes do work toward a common cause, and individual Wiccans may indeed become personally involved in the political system, but Wicca isn't a religion that preaches issues or supports specific political canidates. Wicca does not charge for privet lessons or initiation. Physical objects that are created by Wiccans and services can and should be paid for, but not personal, private Wiccan instruction or initiation. Wiccans do not sacrifice animals or people in rituals! Wiccans do not cause harm to others, unless in self defense. * This information was taken from Living Wicca by Scott Cunningham. ** The painting at the top of this page is "Circe Offering the Cup to Ulysses" (1891) by William J.
