| Animals can be very useful in magick. Kinds of magick that involve animals is generally called animal magick. Another way animals are used in magick are as totem animals. Familiars are animals which one uses in their magickal working. Sometimes these animals are kept as pets, but if they are they should always be treated with the respect you would treat any other magickal partner. In magick animals can be used as symbols, good luck charms, and for many other reasons. |

Bat: Rebirth, initiation, facing facts in one's life, fears are always beneficial, trust your instincts, changes are taking place (which are blessings), and an omen that soon you will see the world with a new perspective. Bear: Grounding, judgements, inner energy of soul to find answers, strenght, inner power to see the joy of life, and the subconscious mind. Beaver: A builder of dreams, teamwork, teaches lessons of breath for health, may mean to go ahead with plans, and a symbol that it's the time to build upon your long term goals. Beetles: Symbols of metamorphosis, changes in life, and transformation. Also could be an omen to examine eating habits or your life and discover which stages of development you are at; egg? pupa? larva? Or adult, is it time to "fly" or walk? Bees: Bees are one of the most useful insects and the busiest. They are symbols that it's time to examine your productivity in life (in all areas). Bison/Buffalo: Keep oneself grounded, don't use force in areas of life, be easygoing, follow the easiest path. The bison symbolises the incorporation of our own efforts to hold and embrace life and burdens and rewards being carried. Bobcat: Learn to be alone and not lonely, keep confidences of those around you, look for the hidden on all levels, trust your senses, and learn to control your creative forces in life; know when to use them and when not to. Bull: Ideas, possessions, and abudance of thoughts. The bull symoblises making the everyday and earthly more fertile, expressing new ideas, and asserting feminine energies to achieve balance. It also teaches stability without stubbornness. Butterflies: Extreme transformation, different outcomes than those which are expected, and miracles. The butterfly awakens us to dance on the winds of life and is a symbol of colour, lightness, joy, and change in life. Also a symbol of miracles. Cat: Cleverness, unpredictabiliy, magic, and independence. Symbolic of a balance of energies and actions in life, invites mystery. Also seen as feminine. Cougar: Helps to create balance betweeen when to be gentle and when to assert your energy more forecfully. Assertion of growth. Be strong, take charge, come unto your own power, and seize opportunities. Coyote: Joker, having fun, wisdom, adaptations, stiulates tasks and cooperation, and balances laughter and knowledge into demonstraing, communicating, and teaching. Deer: Love, alertness, camouflage, gentleness, and attention to more stuble outside influences. Also connedcted to people and children for all best interests. Using hearing, smell, and vision to decide what actions to take. Dogs: Companionship, warnings, protection, and faithfulness. Examine the type of dog and what this says about you. Dolphin: Playfulness, curiosity, intelligence, newness, and in need of balance. Shows proper use of prayers and sounds, both water and breath needed for life, and symbol of needing to release tensions or fresh air. Dragonfly: Expressions of mental and emotional aspects, lightness of body, and allows our inner light to shine through. Symbol that new perspectives and fresh air is the near future. Elephant: Warrior, power, strenght, poor eyesight, and excellent memory. Aromatherepy may clear ills, ease tensions, and reclaim family ideals. Elk: Nobility, endurance, and persistance. Also an omen to adjust your diet for stronger energy levels and to be sure not to neglect the needs of others. Frogs/Toad: Abundance, new waters of life abound, and transformation. Reflect on if you are being slowed down in your old ways or drowning in emotions. Goat: Supporting of others as you move, being flexiable; prepare for moves. Horse: Presuasiveness, freedom, travel, and increased clairvoyance. A symbol of the time to move on if you are feeling stuck, teaches how to go in new directions with the power to face life and freedom. Ladybug: Growth, metamorphosis, too much or too little socialisation. Praying Mantis: Stillness, silence, inner reflection, power of calm, and a time of meditation. Direct the body's energy to empower the body. Stillness in creativity or healing. Rabbit: Fertility, sensativiy, plan for possibilityes, movement in life, move carefully, allow for taking advantage of brief chances, and check what is now in motion. Artistic. Spider: Creativity, wisdom, balance of past and present, physical and spiritual balance. Awakens the sensibilities and weaves influcneces in development in your world, stay focused. |
