Faery Flowers

     
Faeries are attracted to certain flowers.  Some of them are sacred to the them.  Others are connected to them more directly, like tulips.  It is fairly widespread that certain flowers are more connect to these beings than others for one reason or another.  If you wish to add something to this list, please e-mail me and let me know as I'll happily add it (and give credit of course!).
Bluebells
Attract faeries to dance in your garden.  It is believe they are called to their midnight dances by ringing these little bells.  They are one of the most potent faery flowers and represent kindness.  To travel into a glade of bluebells is to find yourself in a place of concentrated faery magick and enhanment, therefore they are sometimes refered to as "warning bells."

Buttercup
These can be used by humans for a boost in self-esteem, but it and it's faery have healing energies.

Carnation
This flower can be used for an aura makeover because of it's great healing energies.

Chicory
The faeries of the chicory will help you open any lock and faery magick such as blessing you with good luck or to make you invisible.

Clover
All kinds will attract faeries, they are sacred to the fae.  To see a faery lay seven grains of wheat on a four-leafed clover.  Also, the clover faeries will help you find love.

Cowslips

These are much loved flowers by the faeries and they can aid one in finding hidden faerie gold.

Crocus
These have the power to inspire love, but they may drain your strenght while collecting them.

Daisy
The Dryad flower, it is a favourite flower of wood nymphs.  You can contact the nymphs by relaxing among daisies.  This flower and associated faery also helps to boost creativity.

Elecampagne
This plant is also known as Elfswort.  To attract the Sidhe scatter the root around your home or add it to your usual spellwork for a Faery blessing.

Forget-Me-Not
These flowers are a symbols of devotion and love.  If one places these flowers on the side of a mountain where faery treasure is hidden, then secret cavern walls will open for you.

Foxglove
Be very careful not to injest this, it is a extremely poisious.  To invite faeries into your home plant foxglove near your door.  A dried sprig of foxglove in a tailsman will keep you protected by and surrounded in faery light.

Gardenia
The faeries connected with this flower are very protective of children and will increase your telepathic abilities with all forms of nature spirit.  Plus, they can help to bring peace within yourself.

Harebells

It is said these flowers inspire honesty and the person wearing them cannot lie.


Hawthorn
This is the trysting place of faries and called "Fairy Thorn in Ireland and Brittany.  To pick a leaf or branch from a hawthorn is to court the displeasure of the fae.

Heather
Is it believed the scent of heather ignites the faeries passion and open portals into those worlds.  Plus, the faeires of this flower are attracted to humans who are rahter shy.  They live undisturbed for the most part in the heather and feast on the heather stalks.  Also, heather is a flower of peace and solitude.

Jasmine
The faeies associated with this flower will help to bring clarity of the mind and peaceful dreams.  Plus can arrouse passion in men.

Lily
The faeires of these flower nurture humility and purity.

Lilac

Their sweet scent draws the faeries to your garden.

Pansy
The fae assoicated with the pansy are helpful in the making of love potions.

Peony
At one time the seeds were used to protect chlidren, a garland of seeds was placed around the child's neck.

Periwinkle
This flower has the ability to inspire love, a couple eatting periwinkle leaves will rekindle their love for each other.

Poppy
According to folk tradtion poppies invoke faeries into your dreams.

Primrose
They attract the company of faeries when hung on the front door or planted in the garden.  If you are growing these scared plants, do not let them die, if you do the faeries will be very offened at your carelessnes.  They have the power to reveal the invisiable, and eatting them (though this is NOT recommedned) should let you see the fae.  To open the pathway to the faery realm touch a faery rock with the right number to primroses, however try this with the wrong number and you may open to door to somewhere you would not want to be.

Ragwort, or St. John's Wort

In Ireland this is called Fairy's Horse because fairies would ride through the air on it.  Supposedly leprechauns bury their treasure under the roots of this plant also.  On the Isle of Man it is believed that if you step upon a ragwort plant on St. John's Eve after sunset a fairy horse will spring up out of the earth and carry you off until sunrise.

Rose
Roses attract faeries when planted in the garden.  Elemental spirits are ecspecially attracted to their sweet scent.  Most often roses are used in faery love spells and when preforming the spell, sprinkle rose petals under your feet and dance softly upon them for the blessings of the Fae on your magick.

Rosemary

In Sicily this plant is considered a favourite of the fairies.  Young fairies take the form of snakes and lie among the brances while the babies sleep in the flowers.

Snapdragon
The faeries associated with snapdragons will protect you from all cureses and deceit.  If you hold thse flowers secretly in your hand then others will see you as fascinating and gracious.

Strawberries
In Bavaria the fairies are fond of strawberries.  The peasants will tie a basket of them between the cows' horns to assure an abundance of milk.

Thyme
Hanging springs of thyme in a window will invite the fae into your home.

Toadstools
Of course, these had to be listed.  They are pixy stools, and called "Fairy Tables" in North Wales.

Tulips
These flowers are cradles for faery babies and small children fae. 

Violet

This flower is sacred to all faeries and to gather violets in the spring will ensure good luck and a wish to come true.

White Lotus

There is a beliefe that the white lotus flowers are nymphs in disguise.  For a woman this flower may be carried to counter effects of unwanted love spells.
