Meet the "Guys" |
|
Just thought
we'd provide this in case you wanted to know a little more about "the guys."
|
Hi, I'm Sherry and this is Renegade.
Renegade is a pinto.
Do you know what makes a pinto different from a paint horse? Well, I didn't until just a
few years ago. To find out, go to one of my favorite sites ... Paints & Pintos |
Here is
my step-daughter, Michelle, taking Renegade out on a trail ride when she was only 6. He's
a good boy and listens better to her than he does to me!! He definitely knows what's
expected of him! Gaited
horses are versatile, not just for high-steppin' show work! |
|
Since he is pinto AND gaited, I
could register Renegade as a Spotted Saddlehorse ... his full name would be "Renegade
of Vlasic" since he was "Pickles" when we first met.

registry and these wonderful horses, go to:

This is Renegade's pasture-buddy, Hondo. He is Mike's "Thoroughbred
& Quarterhorse" cross. |
Here
are Hondo and Mike hitting the trail at Gettysburg National Battlefield Park in PA. This
trail is featured on the "Other States" page of this site. |
|
Hondo is a pretty versatile horse.
He retired from a career in steeplechasing, polo and hunter/jumper and transitioned
beautifully to western trail. Although, he does still attempt to jump anything that
remotely looks like an obstacle and would prefer to go faster than we do.
|
It's a lot
of fun to dress them up for parades, like this one in Crofton MD for Armed Forces Day. |
We have
also participated in the past few Cherry Blossom Parades in Washington DC the second
Saturday of April. |
|
Look for us in several other parades in
Baltimore and the surrounding areas as we ride with the Chesapeake Plantation
Walking Horse Club. You can visit the club website at CPWH CLUB PAGE.
|
Here are Mike and Hondo as seen through the lens of a Sony Mavica
Digital Camera set on "sepia" effects. With a little bit of background
manipulation, you'd never know they were in downtown Baltimore!! |
Here are a couple
more sites for all you horse fanciers out there:
