The Training & Development Department uses the Investors in People standard as a framework promoting lifelong learning.  The staff in the training department believe in working in partnership with managers to develop both staff and the organisation.  This approach underpins many aspects of the education and training requirements of Clinical Goverance, the HR Strategy "Working Together", and the action plans from both Investors in People accrediatrion and the HSE visit.  The Training and Development Department seek to support the Trust in the implementation of these major issues during the coming year.

Education, training and development activity is concentrated on five strategic themes,  these are;

1.  Management of Change   
(linking appraisal to Business Planning / Team roles / IiP...)

2.  Management Development / Culture   
(Structure / roles & responsibilities / training...)

3.  Clinical Goverance   
(Multi-Professional learning & Education CPD / CME)

4.  Recruitment & Retention 
(Return to Practice / Clinical Facilitators / NVQ / Cadets / New Deal..)

5.  Health & Safety 
(improved attendance / targeted training / culture change / statistics...)
