Quality Engineer

·         Resolution of customer reported non-conformances using Seven Discipline (7D) problem solving methodology.

·         Prepare Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) for submission to DaimlerChrysler and Ford-Visteon.  Not only is this activity important for approval prior to the shipment of product, but also to receive payment for tooling.

·         Review component PPAP submissions from suppliers.

·         Design gauging to test dimensional correctness of finished product and components.

·         Participated in Advanced Product Quality Planning within a Product Development Team.  This includes working on product launches for 01’ and 05’ Chrysler Minivan, 03’ Jaguar S-Type, 04’ Chrysler Pacifica, and 05’ Ford Explorer.

·         Resolution of engineering and quality issues for New-Mini Cooper, and Jaguar S-Type products.  This required the attendance of meetings with customers at the BMW Technical Center in Munich, Germany; the Jaguar Technical Center in Whitley, United Kingdom; Intier Systems in Reddich, United Kingdom; and Brose Teknik for Automobile in Coburg, Germany.

·         Maintained product quality assurance for 94’, 01’ & 05’ Chrysler Minivan, 98’ Jeep Grand Cherokee, 01’ Ford Explorer, and 02’ Lincoln Aviator.

·         Involvement in a Six Sigma special improvement project for 01’ Ford Explorer product.

·         Received training from Textron Automotive for Engineering Change Management Systems and Advanced Product Quality Planning both Levels I & II. I received training from Chrysler Corporation in Process Sign Off and Shanin Design of Experiments.

·         Assisted Layout Technicians with dimensional metrology.

·         Investigated reported non-conformances and implemented corrective and preventive action.

SPC Coordinator

·         Performed process capability studies, sampling plans, control plans, and the coordination of continuous improvement projects including improvement team facilitation.

·         Created quality procedure documentation for ISO9002 certification.

·         Updated manufacturing process documentation per Engineering Change Management requirements.

·         Investigated and implemented as necessary process change requests generated by engineering, management, and manufacturing personnel.

·         Special projects include tool and fixture evaluation, welding process documentation, and abrasives utilization improvement. By request I can provide greater detail of these projects and the savings associated with them.

·         The collection and organization of data used by the Engineering Department.

·         I have received a great deal training from AlliedSignal Aerospace.  These courses include Boeing Commercial Airplane Group-Advanced Quality System, Cost of Quality, ISO9000 Internal Auditor Training, Total Quality through Speed (TQS)-Leadtime Reduction, and Short-Run SPC.

 

 

In addition, I have excellent written and verbal communication skills, work well with computers, and am conversant in Italian.
