Welcome to my web site. I have no idea why you're here, probably because you're bored. Yes, it's quite plain. I could make it a lot prettier and fancier, but I choose not to. Why? Because it's simple and easy to make, almost no more work than writing text, and - this page gets almost no traffic (it's mostly just to amuse my ego) very few people will see it anyway.

This is a page mostly about myself. I'll spare you a biography, just go into my interests and such.

I usually just update this page whenever I get insomnia. Which was last Jan 10th, 2004.

Interests and Hobbies

What is trance? - Trance as you may have noticed, is the first half of my nickname/yahoo name. (The other half being my 1st name, Jeremy). No one seems to get it, but it's taken after one of my favorite Simpsons characters, DiscoStu. Disco Stu likes disco. Trance Jeremy likes trance. Get it? Okay, so it's not terribly profound.

List of my favorite trance (and related genres) songs. - Pretty long. (Updated May 12th, 2001)

Assorted Trance Lyrics - Lyrics to about 40 trance songs, most of which are my favorites (good enough for me to type them in).

Some Cue Files for trance albums/live sets - Not many....

What is Gnosticism - Gnosticism is my religion, although it's perhaps more like a philosophy. Disclaimer: I am not a religious nut. Really.

What I like to read. - I read a lot. An awful lot. I've estimated that I've read over 10,000 books in my lifetime. That might be a bit too much, but not by much. And some of that does include kiddy books (since I really didn't start reading regular novels and such until I was about 11-12). (Updated May 12th, 2001)

Other Music I Like - I actually pretty much only listen to trance these days, but I didn't use to. Basically the history of my musical tastes, and how I got into trance.

My Favorite Movies - Not just a list, this explains why I llike my favorite movies. (Updated Jan 6th, 2003)

My Cats - All about my cats. With pictures! Oooh.

What I'd look like as a South Park character.

A personality profile from a personal's site (see below) that rejected me. Why they rejected me, I don't know (unless because it was I admited I'm broke). I seem like a very nice guy according to their profile.

I also have a web log, or 'blog'. - Inspired by Andrew Sullivan, Tim Blair, Glenn Reynolds and others, unfortunately, I'm not nearly as witty or interesting or insightful as those people are. Orignially was sort of politics, but I just not all that interested in that, so ended up more going into myself and weird stuff (ie, paranormal)

My Political Views - You might read before you read the above.

Personals

For some reason, I'm drawn to them. Both posting and reading them. Obviously, the fact I'm lonely is a big factor. But it's more than that. It's the same reason people watch accidents, or bad Japanese monsters movies (actually, there are no bad Japanese monster movies. They're all great.) . Reading them is an interesting experience. It reminds me a lot of the old noir novels and such, because they're sad, seamy, sleazy, yet very real. Or like a Sergio Leone movie.

Unfortunately, with the internet ad crash, most web sites have stopped offering free personal ads. Yahoo now charges $20 a month to reply to an ad, and the ones at Excite have vanished off the face of the earth. While yes, I'm somewhat cheap, this is really a problem because if I were getting almost no responses when they were free, can I really expect many when women have to pay?

Actually, that in part is why I even have this website. I probably will have a personal ad on Yahoo, which will have my yahoo id, which will have a link to my homepage, which is this. In case of the unlikely event someone actually wants to know more about me, they can learn quite a bit.

My experiences with them - Basically a summary of all the experiences with them. Not too exciting, though it's fairly length, as I've apparently been using them for over 5 years. Updated Jan 6th, 2003.

Past Ads I've Placed - Some personal ads I have placed that ddidn't work. Basically a how not to guide, I guess.

More Ads I've Placed - I've found more of them on my hard drive. Including my first, I think.

The Ad Yahoo would not post - For the life of me, I can't figure out why. I've written worse. Nothing sleazy in it. Maybe that was it - I wasn't looking for sex, nor was I sccamming for a web site....

Some observations on them - Nothing witty or terribly profound, just some thoughts and things I've noticed.

List of places I've tried and my general impressions - Starting with yahoo and continuing down to other sites. I excluded excite, since I believe they are out of business, or at least no longer offer them. (Updated Jan 6th, 2003)

Fake Replies! - These are some of the fake replies I'vve received, minus the sites they wanted you to visit, plus some commentary. These probably pose some copyright problems, but since the author apparently never id-ed themselves, they are screwed. (Long! - I just pasted them one after the other...)

That's it. Should ye be insane enough to want to email me, you should be able to figure out my email address on your own.

(Ye? Why not, though originally it was a typo)
