Her mother abandoned her, forcing her to grow up in the company of men, and because of this, she is very tough and very able to defend herself. Both women are fiercely independent and revel in the ability to bring levity to even the most dire of situations with a biting, sarcastic wit. Neither one is an idealist, yet both possess a great loyalty to the notion of good, even if there's not much profit in it. As Beka is loyal to her commander, Dylan, Tranns would go to the ends of the world for her boss, Philip. |

| Name: B'Elanna Torres Actress: Roxanne Dawson Show: Star Trek: Voyager Similarities: Just as Tranns' greatest fear is turning into her mother, B'Elanna detests everything about her mother and the heritage she inherited from her. Both crossbreeds, Tranns and B'Elanna have learned the hard way, the difficulties of belonging to two worlds and no worlds at the same time. Like Tranns, B'Elanna has a very short fuse and when she loses her temper, takes it out on the faces of her enemies. Or friends. Love came for both women in the form of the person they least expected. B'Elanna has also been on the wrong side of the law, acting out of principal, even though it meant becoming an outlaw. |

| Name: Buffy Ann Summers Actress: Sarah Michelle Gellar Show: Buffy the Vampire Slayer Similarities: Life was perfectly normal for Buffy until she learned that she was the "chosen one" destined to fight against evil. For a long while, she fought against her calling, but like Tranns, eventually realized that she could make a great difference in the world. Both Buffy and Tranns teeter on the brink of depression, but get through due to a very close circle of friends. Just as Tranns has been known to run away when an emotional situation gets out of hand, Buffy ran away for three months and changed her name to avoid dealing. Like Tranns, Buffy is exceptionally strong and able when it comes to battle, but she still manages to stay pretty. |

| Name: Faith Actress: Eliza Dushku Show: Angel Similarities: Although Faith's calling was for good, she, like Tranns, walked the line between good and evil once too often and ended up going over to the dark side, not out of ambition, but because that is where she found affection. Both women have always had a strong need for a father figure in their lives, creating family where none existed. Faith is an exceptionally talented and strong fighter, like Tranns, and she knows how to follow orders. At times, both women can become exceptionally jealous of those who manage to outshine them. Faith and Tranns are both emotionally unstable at times, going from extreme aggression to tears very easily. |

| Name: Nebula Actress: Gina Torres Show: Hercules the Legendary Journeys Similarities: Warriors on the outside, both Tranns and Nebula possess playful spirits on the inside, manifesting in dirty jokes and awkward situations that just leave them laughing while the men around them cringe. Both women struggle against their royal heritage, favoring a life of total freedom from decorum. Like Tranns, Nebula can handle herself in a fight, but she much prefers the company of good friends. She is a capable leader who places the well being of her crew over almost anything. When betrayed, however, Nebula can become a person's worst enemy. Nebula hates being dependent on anyone and will do whatever it takes to maintain her independence. |

| Name: Zoe Actress: Gina Torres Show: Firefly Similarities: Zoe is a fiercely loyal, ideal soldier who can always be relied on when the going gets tough. Much like Tranns, she has a tendency to place the orders of her commander over the suggestions of her lover, much to everyone's frustation, but she loves with her full heart. She is slow to trust, but quick to do good, although it usually costs her. Tranns and Zoe love to reflect on "old times." They surround themselves with close friends, creating surrogate families to replace biological ones. People tend to refer to both as "warrior women" because they are excellent in combat, always keeping their heads about them. |
