| My mother loves Santa Lucia day. I think she loves dressing the kids up in their costumes, and then showing them off to her neighbors, more to the point. Santa Lucia is a European tradition, with young girls dressing up as Lucia, and young boys dressing up as Star Boys, to guard her. They then parade though the town, bringing the gifts of light and joy for the new year. Oh, and in this case at least, cookies, too. |
