PROGRAMME (MDP)
Obectives
Bring together all members of the Accounts Dept. in a different environment with a view to strengthening team spirit and foster better understanding enabling the individual members to perform more effectively and efficiently. Harnessing leadership traits and the development of the individual should feature in the process of achieving the objective.
Guidelines

MDP will be held three times a year in the 3rd week of the months February, June & October. Hotel business situation may demand change of date/month.

MDP will be conducted over two days / one night

Each MDP will be arranged and conducted by a committee consisting of seven Dept. employees consisting of Cashiers-1, F&B Controls-1, Credit-1, Other Sections-2 and a Chairman

Chairman will be elected before 31st October of each year for the three "MDPs" of the following year by the EXCO, Finance Manager (FM) & Director of Finance & Admin (DFA) at a meeting chaired by the DFA

Chairman in turn will select his/her committee and inform DFA in writing on or before 15th November. An individual member can be in the MDP committee either as a Committee Member or Chairman only once per calendar year.

DFA & FM will be Patron and Vice Patron respectively of all MDP Committees.They will guide the committee in arranging and conducting the MDP.

MDP Committee must at all times conduct the programme to achieve the MDP objectives. Minimum of five hours each day is to be allocated to conduct specific activities in all of the following areas.

* Team Building
* Communication
* Leadership
* Identifying latent individual talents
* Interaction between members particularly members from
   different sections of the department
* Harnessing the creative ability of the individual

Location, method of conducting activities etc, is at the discretion of the committee

Responsibility of the EXCO
Compulsory attendance at all MDPs. Encourage maximum participation of subordinate staff whilst ensuring a smooth hotel operation.

The cost to the participant will be zero

All MDP participants will be issued with a certificate signed by the Chairman, DFA, FM recognising their participation. A special certificate will be issued to the Chairman and the Committee Members signed by DFA & FM. All certificates will be issued within five working days of completion of the MDP. Copy of this certificate will be placed in the individual's personal file & will be used in the annual performance evaluation of the staff member.

Participants of the MDP will be granted Duty Leave on the days of the MDP, unless they fall on statutory holidays.

The MDP will conclude at the hotel no later than 11pm on day 2 unless due to unavoidable circumstances.

If the arrival at the hotel is after 7pm on day 2, the participants will be reimbursed with the cost of transport to their homes.

At the end of each MDP, prior to close of sessions a review of all activties will be conducted through a brain storming session which will subsequently be summarised and presented by the Chairman to the Sectional Heads, FM, DFA at the EXCO meeting immediately following the MDP. There will also be a standard evaluation sheet that will be completed by all participants within three working days of completion of MDP.
