The Alfa Romeo Transaxle Guys' Memorial Page!
This site is a (rather half-baked) tribute and a remembrance place to a period (1994-1999) in which we toyed around with elder Alfa Romeo cars. In here you can find information on our particular niche-of-interest in the Alfa Romeo world: the transaxle cars. Transaxle as in all Alfa's having the engine up front and the clutch, gearbox and differential in the rear (that's right). These particular cars are known as the 115/116 and 161 chassis cars. They include the Alfetta, Alfetta GT, GTV, GTV6, Giulietta, 75 (Milano in the US), 90 and RZ/SZ cars. We owned several of them and had great fun driving, working on, talking about and collecting them. But, as these things go, life (as in kids, work and study) catches up with big plans and one by one, we sold the assorted bits & pieces. Now, there's nothing left but good memories, pictures and the odd badge. Who knows, maybe one day we'll get back to this. This is us. Eur's on the left, Jurgen on the right. Behind us you can see one of the project cars being dismantled, look in the GTV6 section for more on this. Generally, this is how looked after a day's hard work to massage one or another vehicle back onto the roads... This site's made up out of three main sections: Eur's assorted Giulietta's, Jurgen's assorted GTV6es, and a bunch of other stories & owned cars we musn't forget, including the Museo Storico. Just follow the navigation bars at the top of each page. Enjoy. We did. Cheers, Eur & Jurgen. You can still mail us for advise on transaxle Alfa's: Eur van Andel and Jurgen van der Pol.
