                    College Years
The seventies meant a severe break with tradition in
many art colleges.
'Rest ovals' in "Interlope 3" and the 'diagramatic
shapings' in the "Seated Figure (1 & 2)" and "Shape" come together in later drawing.  The 'sharp cut' shapings owed a lot to work by
Modigliani.
Even though tradition took a beating in the 70's, most art was formed with a high consciousness of early modernist traditions.
