It is a fortunate bit of history that the act of drawing was not called 'replication'.
The word 'drawing' suggests that there may be a bit of work and search involved in the effort.
Drawing can be an easy thing but, when the process of drawing swims around in a sea of developing imaginations, one can only expect that drawing is open to evolving challenges as part of its life.  Like drawing water from a well, you could never be absolutely certain what was going to be pulled out of the depths.
This page is the link to interactive pages within this website in the lead-up to the Workshop in April 2004.  Prospective participants will be able to post comments and send in drawings to enrich learnings through involvement.
In the "Figure as Document" Workshop, there will be strong encouragement to 'read' a figure drawing as something more than simple 'transcription'.  Participants will have opportunity to develop an objectivity about their work, placing it in historical, art-historical and social contexts.
