                                                       Economy of Line
This was an instance of 'right brain' functioning even before the book came out.  When I look at the drawing, I can often think, 'no.....no.....the pose isn't there', but then, as the lines seem to automatically relate, the life of the pose asserts.  For the most economic use of line that I have seen, look at Giacometti's drawings, particularly like  "City Scene"(scroll to bottom of page). Sometimes Giacometti used an abundance of structural line but he was not unable to cut back when the aesthetic/expressive need was present.
