The Haw Waw Effect
This is the filtering/phasing circuit I came up with the other day while dinking on my breadboard and interfacing my Crybaby.

Basically, this circuit converts a Crybaby pedal into an anti-wah phase shifter that can be controlled by your foot pedal.
If using a 741-type single op-amp package, one could just as well do away with the input buffer amplifier, and simply stick teh .1uf input cap in series with the 500k second stage input.  This is a very simple and quick circuit to build.

You may need to add a series capacitor between the two opamp stages if DC is a problem.  I don't see it being  an issue, but I haven't tried it with the input follower yet. I just have my guiitar plugged into the 500k resistor through a blocking capacitor and it is fine, but I figured since I used a dual opamp package, the extra opamp may as well be used for something.
I have pretty well decided that it doesn't matter if this gets "Ripped Off" or whatever.  I figure you DIY guys  may find this an interesting and useful effect.

Stay tuned for added features, such as on/off switching and such.  It will take some time to design a valid circuit interface for bypassing this effect by actually using the wah bypass mode, as it presently creates an evil positive feedback if bypassed.  This requires some more complicated circuitry.

I will also add a switching between using your Wah, and the activated pedal.  This will all be in good time.  I am still tweaking with this thing much as it's relatively new to me.  I have found that varying the 5 nF capacitor gives a wide range of tonal possibilities.  The 1 Meg pot controlls the time constant on this cap, which accentuates the phasing effect, or makes the signal more of a dry anti-wah.

This circuit overal produces very crisp top end tones, with solid swirling phasey bottom end with the movement of the wah pedal.  At some point, I will also add a modulated wah in the feed back automated effect.

I think it is well suited to you funk or Reggae guys.  I was thinking of Bob Marley as I was working the Haw-Wah on my breadboard.

Please Post this thing around with my name on it!  I would like to at least have some credit for coming up with it.  After the discussions in Aron's DIY forum about intellectual property, I'm not so concerned about this thing any more.

I would really like some feedback, so please proto this and tell me what you think at:
