As my dad always says, M*A*S*H is a show about army doctors in Korea. To be more specific, I guess you could say men and women saving soldier's lives in the Korean War. Okay, the subject is M*A*S*H. M*A*S*H is about a group of surgeons and other personnel in the 4077th M.A.S.H. Unit during the Korean War. The show revolves around various subjects like love, death, marriage, pain, suicide, betrayel, idolism, morals, feelings, fear, and bascially everything that happens in life. The main character of the show is Benjamin Franklin Pierce, "Hawkeye". Hawkeye is the skirt-chasing chief surgeon who's a top-notch doctor and friend. The commanding officers of the unit were first Lt. Col. Henry Blake and later Col. Potter. Hawkeye's sidekick was first John Francis Xavier McIntyre, "Trapper", and later was BJ Hunnicutt. The head nurse of the unit is Margaret Houlihan, "Hot Lips". Hawkeye's nemesis was first Frank Burns, "Ferret Face", and later Charles Emerson Winchester III. The Company Clerk was first Walter Eugene O'Reilly, "Radar", and Maxwell Klinger (who before he was Company Clerk was a crazy corpsman who wears dresses to try to get out of the army). The unit goes through the ups and downs if war with lots of humor. It is a situational comedy. It has a combination of comedy and drama. |
